This question comes up all the time from candidates, and most are worried and confused because they do not know if they are the same thing, or are different entities. It is understandable because no one wants to make avoidable mistakes, especially with the IELTS tests.
Any mistake costs so much money.
Let’s see what these nomenclatures are.
Are they the same thing, or are they different?

IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration.
IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP, IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English. You can get more information about it on the IELTS partner website www.ielts.org
