What Is the Difference between IELTS UKVI, British Council,IDP, MOD and CBT?

new-york-city-336475_960_720This question comes up all the time from candidates, and most are worried and confused because they do not know if they are the same thing, or are different entities. It is understandable because no one wants to make avoidable mistakes, especially with the IELTS tests.

Any mistake costs so much money.

Let’s see what these nomenclatures are.

Are they the same thing, or are they different?

In summary, they are all the same group.

IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration.

IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP, IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English. You can get more information about it on the IELTS partner website www.ielts.org

As you can see, the IDP is a co-owner of the IELTS. All tests conducted by the British Council and IDP are compiled by Cambridge English Language Assessment. So there is no difference between the IELTS test at the British Council, in IDP or MOD. Difficulty level at both is the same.
